Deadly 60 comes to Africa

"European Torvosaurus...the rarest carnivore on the reserve" whispers Bakker. The Allosaurus makes his stand, spreading his arms out to try and look more intimidating or threatening. He gives off a grunt as a warning to the larger and stronger theropod.

But Pitch Black wasn't intiminated by the Allosaur's display, he growls menacingly & makes his approach & snaps his jaws at the Allosaur as a warning to him.

Arching his neck in a 's' position, the Allosaurus preps himself further for defense. Turning his body to the side and inhaling more air makes him appear larger than he really is. All the while, Bakker watches from the relative safety along with Steve and the crew.

Steve crouches back and watches the turf battle unveil, as the cameras keep rolling. Steve was in all truth awed by what he has seen today, and they had only started!

Pitch Black sees the display the Allosaurus is pulilng off & isn't intiminaed one bit by it. He snarls & prepares to attack the young predator!

Staring down Pitch Black, the Allosaurus prepares for a face off. Though craftier and more nimble, the sheer power and size of the Torvosaurus is more than a match for the younger theropod. To survive this enocunter, the Allosaurus has two options; stand and fight or turn around and outrun the massive theropod.

Pitch Black roared again & gave a warning attack & bit the Allosaur's snout! But he released the young dinosaur & roared again, but much louder this time!

"Oh my God, did you capture this?!" Steve whispered, in absolute shock and awe. He now understood that this has turned into a very serious turf battle and that one of these two was going to walk away seriously injured. Steve thought that Torvosaurus could pull off the victory, due to greater size and hence, strength.

Bitten on the snout, the Allosaurus grunts and backs away a bit, The powerful roar of Pitch Black is very intimidating even to another theropod like Allosaurus.

Pitch Black growled as he stepped forward & snapped at the Sllosaurus again! Raising his body up to ake himself look larger than he really is!

Steve was still crouching and observing the two carnivores sparring. With some careful thought, he concluded in his mind that it was rather obvious that the Allosaurus was going to lose - by a mortal wound, or a drive-away by the bigger carnivore. He whispers: "They've been fighting for a quite a while now, and I can tell that the Torvosaurus is going to win this one."

Seeing that he is outgunned and outmatched, the Allosaurus tries backing away a little faster while still facing the massive Torvosaurus named Pitch Black. If he can back away enough, he will be able to outrun the larger and slightly slower Torvosaurus since overpowering the beast isn't an option. All the while, Bakker and Steve along with his film crew watch on.

Pitch Black began to watch the Allosaur back away. He stepped forward & snapped at the smaller theropod with a mock lunge to attempt to scare the Allosaur off for good.

Steve was still crouching at the same spot where he stopped so that he and his crew could look at the animals from a safe distance. Watching the quarrel, Steve was positive that this Allosaurus wouldn't hang around here for a very long time now. It was going to run away, sooner or later.

Continuing to back off from the possible brawl against the more powerful theropod, Pitch Black, the Allosaurus seizes his chance and turns tail to run to a safer distance. His lighter weight allow him to quickly gain distance over the Torvosaurus.

After finaly scaring off the Allosaurus, Pitch Black snorts as he returns to the watering hole to lap up a few drinks of water before the wind faced his way from Robert Bakker & Steve.....& he caught their scent!

Steve was relieved that the Allosaurus managed to escape the much larger Torvosaurus. He whispers: "That was absolutely astounding... I cannot believe what I just saw." but then, with the change of the wind, there was a change in Pitch Black's behavior. He noticed that he stopped drinking water and was facing them! Steve whispers to Bakker: "Bob, I think he caught out scent!"
