Desert home/ The Return of the King Empty
PostSubject: Desert home/ The Return of the King   Desert home/ The Return of the King EmptyTue Jun 25, 2013 8:49 pm

The journey from New York was long. About one day has past since the events that took place in New York. When the Latverian Embassy had been presumably stolen from by what many people had called a suspicious caped man. Many thought it was only an illusion. While others thought this Thief was only myth.....But the man was all flesh & blood. A single, long day had passed since then & the setting is now nearly half way across the whole world. In a region in the lands of Arabia, where Europe & Africa meet together. The journey back from New York may have been long, but the rest of the journey back home had taken undoubtedly the longest.
For in this very region of Arabia, where the land is connected by both the Arabian desert & the Sahara of Africa, lied a vast stretch of sand & treacherous desert in which no man would ever dare venture into. With the two deserts of Africa & Arabia locking together from both the east & the west, this was unquestionable the largest, treacherous & most dangerous desert in all the world. With sand dunes & vast stretches of uninhabitable, inhospitable lands as far as the eye could see. With sandstorms more violent then anything a desert could ever witness, & with searing heats far over one hundred degrees. For this....was the Lost Desert. Yet, with all these unbearable conditions...There was life. There was an inhabitants.
In this vast land of hot sands & steaming, treacherous winds, a distant trail of sand being kicked & moved into the air could soon be seen in the vast distance. Almost as if it was a sandstorm itself. Or a herd of animals trudging through the harsh lands. The trail of lifting sand & dust eventually came closer & closer. Going further into the harsh lands & hills of hot, searing sand. For it was a man. A single man mounted on what appeared to be a large dinosaur. With two others following close behind. With a long, dark blue cape flipping & flowing behind the dinosaur & the man, this was none other then the legendary man who had returned from the Embassy in New York after a successful mission.......For it was Cassim A'rugbah, The King of Thieves himself, & with his trusted dinosaur companions. His largest, Da' Vinci, the Giganotraptor, ran across the desert at high speed & with great efficiency as Cassim stayed mounted on his back to ride. Following close behind was his trusted Utahraptor, Ignis & above him, his Archeopteryx named Iago.

In the vast desert, the same as the King of Theives is riding his Gigantoraptor upon, it would seem to be lifeless for miles around. But.....that isn't so. About 500 yeards from where Cassim was riding, a carnivore was feasting upon a camel, a carnivorous dinosaur. It was about 23 ft long & weighed about 600 lbs. It was mostlly red with a white underbelly & blue stripes down its back. But the most distinctive feature was a mowhawk of feathers on its head. It lifts its head up when the thundering sound of the King of Theive's dinosaurs were faintlly heard in the distance. The carnivore barks & runs off, as if it was running away from Cassim....but that's not the case. the theropod was like it was acting as a lookout & runs to a certain spot in the desert to where Cassim was heading for.

PostSubject: Re: Desert home/ The Return of the King   Desert home/ The Return of the King EmptyTue Jun 25, 2013 11:00 pm

Through the vast, sandy field of the desert, the King of Thieves rode on upon the back of his Gigantoprator, Da' Vinci. Who squawked & called out while running at top speed. Cassim had a single leash attached to his dinosaur to hang on like that he would place around a camels neck & head. Indeed, riding upon the back of this giant, bird-like dinosaur was far more efficient then any camel. Da' Vinci was faster & able to store energy in himself for long travel. Like a bird. The gigantic Gigantoraptor ran along through the desert field, kicking up dirt & sand to leave a trail & cloud of dust behind him. Running beside the dinosaur was Ignis, his Utahraptor & above, Iago, the Archeopteryx. Both of whom kept a sharp eye out to the distance & upon the path they were following. Cassim rode on with his dinsoaurs & with great pace as it was nearing early evening time upon the land. With a light lash of Da' Vinci's leash & a simple call to the others, he had his dinosaurs pace themselves & move faster. So they would reach their destination before night fall. & what that destination was....No one knew. It seemed that Cassim's journey would lead him on through no where but endless desert terrain & more vast stretches of perilous sand...But it was not the case. Here, in the Lost Desert, the King of Thieves as occupied one place in particular. A single area in which he has claimed as his home for many decades. One of which was thought to have been forgotten by men for many years.

The medium sized theropod continued to run across the hot sands of the Lost desert. It soon reaches on top of a dune & sees large, dark objects in the distance. With a last glance back in the same direction Cassim was, he adveances forward. For these large, dark obects- were buildings!

Da' Vinci soon began to reach the top of a large sand dune while the Gigantoraptor ran on across the sandy plains. From there, Cassim eventually slowed down his dinosaur to have him rest for a second. The tall sand dune allowed Cassim to look out into the vast distance & horizon from his view point. At first, it just seemed there was nothing more to look at then just more & more desert. But soon, he himself began to see a large structure poking out from behind a series of large dunes. Triangular in shape, it looked like the top of a building of some kind. Ignis soon came to a stop himself while standing beside Da' Vinci & Iago soon came down on Cassim's arm to rest. The two bird-like dinosaurs gave the King of Thieves a small call as their master looked on. "Be patient, my pets. We're almost home." the King of Thieves replied gently to them both.

Soon, the theropod enters a certain building & heads for a room. A room that held a 20 year old man, who was sitting at a desk, looking through what seemed to be a pack of cards. The man turns to the dinosaur that enters his room, hearing it barking to him, as if it wa trying to tell him something. "What is it, Drillago?" the man says to the dinosaur, wich was named Drillago. Drillago snarsls & barks, like he's telling him someone important is returning. Looking up, the man knows who it was & gets off his desk, placing the cards down & puts on what seemed like a long, purple cape. He then follows Drillago outside to see if it was true that Cassim was returning.

With his destination set & his path clear to him, Cassim soon began to prepare his dinosaurs for travel once again. "Hiyah!" he cried to Da' Vinci, the Gigantoraptor. As the giant bird-like dinosaur soon cried out & thus ran on through the field & down the sand dune towards their distant destination, with Cassim's blue cape flowing & whipping behind him in the wind & the trail of kicking sand & dust lifting into the air. Ignis & Iago followed close behind as they all began to make the journey to their destination, traveling & riding through the treacherous desert.

The King of Thieves traveled on, through the harsh sands of this treacherous, legendary desert. His dinosaur companions traveled beside him & with Da' Vinci guiding the way while Cassim rode upon his feathered back. But as the Cassim & his legion of dinosaurs traveled on, an object could soon be seen off in the distance. A tall structure by the looks of it. It stood high above the nearby sand dunes & appeared as a large black block in the distance. But to the King of Thieves, this was a definite sign. For this was no ordinary "block" in the distance. This strange black object....Was his home. As Cassim finally rode up the final sand dune, he could finally see what appeared to be a large, ancient structure sitting in the middle of the desert. A large temple that was made long ago & still stands today.

The teen was also living in the same temple that is mentioned. The light, desert breeze blows against him, making his purple cape flow. He smiles for the return of Cassim as he could see him over the distance. He had blondish, tannish hair, with light brown colored skin & purple eyes. He also had small tattoo streaks under his eyes. On his arms & neck, he had golden rings that was around him. He also had golden earings as well. But he had another golden item in his hand. An ancient item that looked like a small axe with an eye symbol on it. An ancient artifact named- the Millenium Rod! 1 of seven of the legendary "Millenium Items!" For this teen-was Marik Ishtar!

The King of Thieves could finally see his home in the distance. A large, & ancient temple made by an ancient tribe & culture long ago in the desert. He continued to ride forth upon Da' Vinci with his dinosaur companions following close behind. Upon arriving, the large, imposing temple could finally be seen in full detail & full majesty. It was truly large & by the style of the carving & hieroglyphics, this temple was very old. No one knows how long it has been standing. But it has served as Cassim's home for any years & was once the very home of the notorious group he once led- The Forty Thieves. But that was many years & time has since past. Now, it has simply served as his home & a storage for all the many treasures he has collected to preserve.

The teen, known as Marik Ishtar, stood beside his compainion dinosaur, wich turned out to be a large Utahraptor. The 2 stood right where they were as the wind bew Marik's cape behind him, watching Cassim riding from over the distance.

The journey had been long for Cassim A'rugbah. Both through the journey from New York & bck & through the Desert itself. But at last, he had finally returned home. Strapped on himself was a bag, containing the items he had taken from the Latverian Embassy. Da' Vinci had soon arrived near the very doors & columns of the temple, as the King of Thieves finally dismounted his dinosaur & with Ignis & Iago following close behind. Ignis stood close while Iago perched on his master's shoulder. Cassim, looking on at the massive temple, soon began to approach his home, where it was sealed by a massive door. To all others & outsiders, this large door would remain unmovable by others. But to Cassim, there was a secret. He placed a single hand where he could see the print of a hand at on the door. Like a key. There, he uttered the words- "Open Sesame!"
At that very moment, as if it was by magic itself, the doors soon began to open before the King of Thieves, granting the man access inside.

The King of Thieves soon entered the temple, returning home at last. His dinosaurs followed close behind to return home as well. As they went down the hall, only a single torch could be seen lit. Cassim went over to carry the torch & thus continued on through the massive. dark hall & cavern. Throughout his trek, he lit other torches he came across to build the light inside. The brighter the hall got, the more clear it was that this was a much larger cavern & hall then it appeared to be. It would be a while before Cassim would finally reach the center of the temple.

Marrik & Drillago continued to make their way towards Cassim, until he was close enough to him, "I see you've returned from your trip to the Latverian Embassy, Cassim. How did it go?" asked Marik with a smile.

Suddenly, a voice had begun to echo from inside the cavern & the endless hall of the temple. The King of Thieves looked to his side to see a young boy standing next to him. But thankfully, the boy was no stranger. It was instead a youngster whom Cassim has helped take care of for a while. A boy named Marrik. For a moment, Cassim did not say a work & because of the tunic covering his face, his emotions or expressions were unable to be seen. But nevertheless, he continued on his path towards the temple's main hall- His loving quarters. "I have indeed..." Cassim replied back. "It....Did not go as well as I had intended. But it was not unexpected....Whats done is done. The treasures are now mine."

Hearing the child once more, Cassim could not deny the fact that Von Doom's defenses were impressive. & that he alone was able to single handedly catch him during the heist. That alone was impressive enough, he thought. "He did...But it did not matter. I collected what I needed. If any man thought he could keep me for long....Then even Von Doom is a fool to believe such things." he said back while walking along & soon, he even took the treasures he took from the pouch he kept beside him. In his hand was the single, golden rod & the small emerald, as he showed them to Marik.

Marik looked on as he saw the items. Especially the rod, "Hmm, interesting rod." he says, "Resembles my Millenium Rod a little." he says, looking on at the treasures. Knowing he has one of 7 of ancient Egyptian artifacts known as the Millenium Items.

Cassim nodded, letting his young friend hold the rod in his own hands. "This is the Oracle's Scythe. It is of Arabian origin & legend tells it is the key of unlocking a most valuable treasure." he said to Marik. "What it was doing in a Latverian Embassy....I do not know."

With that, Cassim placed the rod & the jewel back in his pouch. "I can only assume the Latverians took them at one point to treasure it for themselves....They are the true thieves in this scheme." he then said so sternly before advancing on through the cavern.

After their discussion, Cassim lead the way through the darkening tunnels & caverns of the old temple. The further they went, the deeper in the temple & under ground they went. It began to get cold the further down they went & down the endless stairs & with only Cassim's torch to illuminate the way. Eventually however, they finally came across a single, stone door.....The entrance to Cassim's old home.
