Pavi T'Challa's big vacation.

At that moment the forest & the air suddenly grew quiet......Too quiet. Not a sound was heard. Not even the crickets made a noise. Until finally, & suddenly, the forest exploded like thunder with the sound of an emerging giant! Another roar had suddenly resonated from the wilderness! Now seeming closer then ever before. It was a horrifying, screeching roar. Much like one that would be heard in JP3. Finally, another tree came crashing down before the shelter & the Allosaurus before the group! Landing with a thunderous slam! But then, from the wilderness & from the clearing of the tall tree's, stood a gargantuan beast! An animal that dwarfed the Allosaur.........The Spinosaur had finally arrived.
As seen by the group, they could tell that this Spinosaur was a powerful male at his prime! With a large sail & gigantic claws! It came for both territorial reasons.....& the means to feed! The animal, now seeing the Allosaur that was in his territory, approached with murderous & violent intent! With the intentions to either drive the Allosaur away...Or kill it! It approached slowly, beginning to show off his immense size & power! His giant arms held to the side to give a threat display while the Spinosaur's gigantic mouth opened with a deep, hissing growl, barring it's wicked conical teeth!

The creature is an immense Spinosaurus, a male of very gigantic proportions, probably due to a combination of the right genes from his healthy parents. This animal is twice the length and many times heavier than the Allosaurus Fragilis before him. This is the biggest theropod dinosaur on the reserve and the biggest predator ever to walk the earth, bigger than even Tyrannosaurus Rex and Giganotosaurus! The Allosaurus is in way over her head, not even the strongest Allosaurus Fragilis is large enough or strong enough to attack a mammoth Spinosaurus. She is easily intimidated by the giant and starts to back away.

Nigel looks on as he finally saw the Spinosaurus before the cave, scaring off the Allosaurus. "Spinosaurus." he quietlly says as he still eld the fire filled branch in his hand. Ready to try & scare the Spinosaurus off with it if it decides to attack them after it scares off the Allosaurus.

The large, mammoth, Spinosaur had begun to see that he was beginning to intimidate the Allosaur before him. Exactly his intentions. This was his territory that he had taken from another rival predator & would protect this domain even if he had to resort to killing this nuisance! He gave a short but furious cry, swiping his immense claws at the theropod before him, just barely scrapping her snout & only inches away from striking her skull....But the second swipe was not so lucky! With violent intent, the Spinosaur soon struck with another swipe, & just barely struck the animal's skull once more, but the mammoth followed with a piercing bite to her neck! The sharp conical teeth went straight through the Allosaur's flesh like a hot knife through butter. But this was merely a warning shot! The next strike & the Allosaur would very well not be able to recover from! The Spinosaur's instinct to drive this other carnivore from his territory only rose more & more & suddenly......He charged! Roaring loudly with fury & blood thirsty intent, he gave a relentless charge at the animal with claws ready to shred & his mouth widened & agape! To give an even more terrifying display & image!

The female Allosaurus wants none of this, so see turns and runs off, heading away from the territory of the Spinosaurus. She is faster than the 10 ton giant, so she uses her speed wisely to escape. However, Nigel and Bakker now have to contend with the giant theropod...and they are very outgunned.

Nigel, seeing the Allosaurus finally retreating, turns back to the Spinosaurs, with his fire branch at hand, ready to try & fend off the male Spinosaurus if nessecary.

The struggle was now over. The Allosaur had retreated. After chasing the carnivore away, the male Spinosaur soon gave a ferocious & echoing roar of victory! Displaying his own majesty & power. The undisputed master of this terrain & of the lagoon. The roar echoed for miles & was enough to make the very ground beneath him slightly shake. After the mighty roar the male soon gave a violent snort. With steam spewing from his own nostrils. But his territorial instincts had since left. In it's place.......Hunger. The Spinosaur soon began to catch the scent of something nearby. Something it rarely smells......Fire. The smell soon caused the animal to turn his massive head towards the scent, where he then not only saw a small fire.....But the group as well. Moving targets.....Something no predator can ever ignore. His massive eyes locked onto the group with a spine chilling glare! Releasing a deep, & hissing growl. The animal was hungry.....& now he has just found his prey!

Both Bakker and Nigel know that their in major trouble. The Spinosaur's attention is now focused on them and, although they are merely snacks to the 60 theropod, it doesn't seem to care as hunger is on its mind. Bakker holds up his branch of fire, knowing its his only protection, and nervously waits for the impending attack. Even the largest land animals fear the untamed powers of fire, its more destructive than even the most ferocious of predators.

Nigel looks on as he saw Bakker grab the fire on a branch, he looks on as he saw the Spinosaurus looking at them, ready to fend off the predator with Bakker so they can sleep the rest of the night.

His prey was readying to defend themselves. The Spinosaur merely stood still with the intentions of satisfying his hunger. Unaware of the true nature of fire. Hunger was the only thing on this beast's mind. Nothing more & nothing less. After standing aimlessly where he was, watching with such a spine chilling glare, the Spinosaur soon made his move! With a loud & ravenous roar, he soon approached! His mouth was once more agape & his clawed hands spread apart & ready to slash. The massive colossus stood before the group at a massive 23 feet at the top of the sail. It was a scene straight from their worst nightmares! A blood thirsty monster with a ravenous appetite! Though the fire presented an obstacle to the animal, he tried to snatch up a meal, moving in closer with his long jaws & tried to snap at them!

Spinosaurus has moved in for the kill. Snapping at both of the explorers, Bakker and Nigel try to fend it off with branches of fire. Bakker waves the branch left and right, keeping the giant carnivore at bay, but the predator keeps on coming. "Get back, ah" exclaims Bakker trying his best to keep the Spinosaur's jaws from him. The massive theropod can't get anything but its claws and elongated jaws into the small shelter...plus, even it can't push over the heavy rock foundation, so Bakker and Nigel are safe from its full wrath as long as they remain in the shelter.

Roaring with annoyance & ever growing hunger, the Spinosaur soon doubled his efforts! Becoming more violent & more ravenous then before! Yet he was nearly a few feet away from just barely snatching either one of the men for a meal! One false step & it would be over. The fire presented itself as a nuisance & it only made things harder for the animal to try & snatch his meal! This was complicated prey. Again & again he tried to reach them. Snapping his immense jaws at the men & swiping his claws & scrapping the rocky walls as well! Though the more the animal tried to get in, the closer it was soon getting. The animal could not move the rocky formation away to get to them......But theres more then one way to catch a rat from it's hole. Even if it means the old fashion way. This animal may not be the brainiest of all animals....But this Spinosaur was certainly no quitter. Each time the animal tried to reach inside, the Spinosaur began to attempt & dig his way in! Scrapping at the dirt & rock with his enormous claws! The animal was getting closer! & they knew he was! Now just barely 4 feet away from the jaws of death, the animal's very breath could be smelt more then anything. The rotten & putrid smell of meat. Bakker & Nigel were both running out of places to get back....& soon they wouldnt have any room......No where to escape.

Nigel backed up as the Spinosaurus tried to dig them out. He continued to swing the fire at the predators face," GET OUT OF HERE, YIAH!" he shouted as he again swung the frie branch at the Spinosaurus's face. Soon he got a rock & thre it & the rock landed ight at the predator's eye!

A sharp, definite pain suddenly struck the dinosaurs eye! The Spinosaur was suddenly sent into a roaring frenzy! Shaking his massive 10 ton body violently & made the very walls of the shelter shake & crumble! This pray was becoming more of a nuisance then food! The animal was now more upset then hungry. The Spinosaur was making his way out, but he soon turned to his attacker, Nigel & tried to swat at him with his claws, barely ripping his shirt! But suddenly, the same hand that swiped at Nigel suddenly landed on the fire itself! The burning pain was immediately & soon made the Spinosaur roar even louder! The animal began to shake violently once again! It now had no choice but to get out! The animal tried everything but soon, the animal suddenly used all of his titanic strength to push up because of the sudden & immediate pain! From the force of pushing up, the Spinosaur soon caused the upper portion of the shelter to break & crumble as the animal was now, at last, free! Rocks went soaring into the air from such a violent force breaking through & the debree nearly caved in the shelter! With a final cry, the bull Spinosaur soon went off else where, back to the forest from whence it came & after a few moments, the forest once more went quiet.......As if nothing had ever happened.

But Luckilly for both Nigel & Bakker, the rocks didn't completelly cave in & trap them, there was still an opening where they can get out if rescue ever came for them. Nigel pants & turns to Bakker, "You alright Robert?" he asked.

"Yes, yes...I am fine" replies Bakker. Bakker watches as the Spinosaurus disappears back into the African forest. Bakker knows that he and Nigel are very lucky to have survived. Bakker knows that Spinosaurus is a powerful animal, but it usually hunts smaller dinosaurs, normally no bigger than 30 feet or so. Its jaws aren't powerful, despite the theropod's immense size...but its clawed forearms can give a lethal punch. Prey and rival predators would try to avoid these claws as much as possible.

Nigel nods as he looks out where the Spinosaurus had left. He looks back at Bakker, "You think we should go back to sleep?" he asks, knowing now would be dangerous if the Spinosaurus was anywhere near the 2 still.

Back at the ranger station of the reserve, Bob still tries to locate Nigel & Robert, but they still don't have any luck. Bob looks over & sees Pavi petting her Microraptor, Mikey. He approaches her, "Pavi, my dear, why don't you get some sleep? I'll update you if we find them." he says, but alas, Pavi shakes her head, "I can't, I'm worried of what might happen to Nigel & Robert out there." she says. "Don't worry, Robert knows what he is doing. I'm sure they're fine." Bob says with a wink. ">sigh< I hope so." Pavi said as she looked out the window & in the night filled reserve.

"It would probably be best if we did go back to sleep" says Bakker. "However, the Spinosaurus has destroyed our thorny fence, so we should probably put some rocks near the entrance hole of our shelter". Though large theropods can now longer pose much of a threat to them directly, smaller theropods can.

Nigel nods & goes to put some rocks at the entrance of the shelter so nothing else can get in the cave to the 2 men. After that, Nigel returns to Bakker & sits down, "There, it's done." he says & lays down beside the fire.

"Yes indeed" says Bakker who sits down as well. "It will be rather hard to sleep when the forest echos with the sounds of dinosaurs once more". "However, at least we are safe in here".

"Yes, I agree." Nigel says to Bakker as he sits back down beside the fire, hearing all the calls of the dinosaurs in the reserve.

Hours later, many animals are sleeping and this is true for Nigel and Bakker as well. They are relatively safe in their temporary hideout from both large and small theropod dinosaurs. However, not all the species are sleeping...some are still active during the cool hours of night.

As Bakker & Nigel remained asleep outside. They are unaware of an upcoming event in the night.

About 500 feet from the cave, the same Torosaurus herd is grazing upon the ferns on the ground. But they are unaware of nocturnal predators that were stalking them. A pair of Dromeosaurus have come to unsettle the herd & seperate one of the younglings. A young Torosaurus gets scared & ran fom the herd a little when it was stopped by the pair of 6 ft predators. One gets closer & shreiks & roars & the 2 attack the young! slashing their hand claws in the face of the young! The young Torosaur is hurt & runs back to the herd. Safe! But the predators have tasted blood, & will not give up easilly.The herd turns to the predators & shake their frills & horns at them! The attack will then continue for the rest of the night, until the young is killed by the Dromeosaurus! They attack again & again, weaking the young ceratopsian as it cries out in pain, the hollers echoing int the night.

While the Dromeosaurus hunt the young Torosaurus, Leviathan wonders around farther away from the action, seeking a place to rest for the night. Even when he is tired, he is still highly aggressive and even the bigger theropod dinosaurs avoid him, a testament to his ferocity. After a minute or two of walking, he finds an area of soft sand and some crushed foliage. He then hunkers down and lays down on his side before shutting his eye...this is the only time when he isn't aggressive, unless disturbed that is.

Soon enough, the her stampedes away from the shelter & the predators. But the young is so weak, it was sadlly left behind! Soon, the predators close in....& make the final attack! Helpless, the young gives out a painfull whail. Then.....silence. The young is dead & the pack of raptors feast upon their kill!
